Getting Started with Your NBN Service
Welcome to your new NBN service! This guide will walk you through the basic steps to get your internet up and running. Whether you're new to the internet or just setting up a new connection, we're here to help. Let's get started!
Step 1: Unbox Your Equipment
Inside the box, you should find:
- Netcomm NF18 or NL19 Modem Router
- Power adapter
- Ethernet cable
- Quick start guide
Take everything out of the box and place your modem router in a central location in your home for the best Wi-Fi coverage.
Step 2: Connect Your Modem Router
For NBN FTTP, HFC, FTTB, or FTTN Users
-
Plug the Power Adapter: Connect the power adapter to your modem router and plug it into a power outlet. Press the power button to turn on the modem router.
-
Connect the NBN Cable:
- FTTP or HFC: Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the designated UNI-D port on your NBN connection box. Plug the other end into the WAN port on your modem router.
- FTTB or FTTN: Connect the DSL cable to the DSL port on your modem router and plug the other end into your telephone wall socket.
-
Wait for the Lights: The lights on your modem router should start blinking. Once the 'Internet' light turns solid, you're connected!
For NBN Wireless or Satellite Users
-
Connect the Power: Plug in your modem router as described above.
-
Connect to the NBN Connection Box: Use the Ethernet cable to connect the WAN port on your modem router to the port on your NBN connection box.
-
Check the Lights: Wait for the 'Internet' light on your modem router to turn solid.
Step 3: Connect Your Devices
Once your modem router is connected to the internet, you can start connecting your devices.
-
Wi-Fi Connection:
- On your device (computer, phone, tablet), go to the Wi-Fi settings.
- Find the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) on the sticker on your modem router.
- Select the network and enter the Wi-Fi password (also found on the sticker).
-
Wired Connection:
- Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports on the modem router.
- Plug the other end into your device.
Step 4: Test Your Connection
Open a web browser on your device and visit any website (e.g., Google) to test your connection. If the page loads, you're all set!
