Outlook (new)

The followiong guide will assist you in setting up your @ecn.net.au email account using Outlook (new).

Prerequisites

Ensure you have the following before starting the setup:
- Email address: username@ecn.net.au
- Email password
- The new Outlook app installed on your Windows computer

Step 1: Locate and Open the New Outlook App

  1. Ensure the New Outlook app is installed.
  2. It is available through Windows Update or can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
  3. Open the New Outlook app from the Start menu or taskbar.

Step 2: Add Your Email Account

  1. On the starting screen, locate the blank field under Suggested Account.
  2. Enter your email address (e.g., username@ecn.net.au).
  3. Click Continue.

Note: The Continue button will remain greyed out until a valid email address is entered.

Step 3: Enter Password and Complete Setup

  1. Enter your email password when prompted.
  2. Click Continue and wait while Outlook configures the account.
  3. If prompted, accept the default settings and continue.

Once the setup is complete, you will see a "Welcome to Outlook" or "Account Successfully Added" message.

Click Done to proceed to your inbox.

Testing the Configuration

  1. Send a test email to verify the account is functioning correctly.
  2. Ensure you can receive emails and access all folders.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Unable to Connect: Double-check the email address and password for accuracy, you can test using ECN Webmail.
  • Server Errors: Ensure your internet connection is stable and retry the setup.

You can also access your email online by visiting ecn.net.au/mail and logging in with your email address and password.
